Candle Care
To get the most out of your candle and enjoy a long-lasting, even burn, follow these simple care tips:
1. Trim the Wick
Before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. This helps prevent excessive smoke, ensures a clean burn, and extends the life of your candle.
2. Let It Pool
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface. This prevents tunneling and ensures your candle burns evenly throughout its life.
3. Burn Time
For best results, burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours to prevent the container from overheating.
4. Safety First
Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from flammable objects, children, and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
5. Avoid Drafts
Keep your candle away from fans, open windows, or vents to ensure an even flame and prevent uneven burning.
6. Extinguish Safely
Use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax to extinguish the flame without smoke or splatter. Avoid blowing it out, which can cause wax to spill.
7. Reuse the Jar
Once your candle has burned down to about 1/2 inch of wax, it’s time to retire it. Clean out the container with warm, soapy water, and repurpose it as a planter, storage jar, or decor piece!
